Beginner-Friendly Yoga at The Bend

New to yoga, returning after time away, or just looking for a softer place to begin? You are welcome here. Our beginner-friendly classes are designed to help you feel supported, comfortable, and confident from your very first visit.

You do not have to be flexible to start yoga.

Relax with yoga props

At The Bend, beginners are not expected to know the poses, understand the language, or move a certain way. Our teachers offer guidance, options, and support so you can learn at your own pace.

You are allowed to use props, rest when needed, ask questions, modify poses, and choose the version of the practice that feels right in your body.

Yoga meets you where you are — not where you think you should be.

Best classes for beginners

These classes are especially supportive for new students, students returning to movement, or anyone who wants a slower, more guided experience.

Foundations

Foundations

Best first class.

Foundations is our most beginner-friendly yoga class and the best place to begin or begin again. This class breaks down common poses, breath, alignment, transitions, and prop use in a clear, supportive way.

Good for: brand-new students, returning students, and nervous beginners.

Chair

Supportive & accessible

Chair uses the support of a chair to make movement more stable and approachable. This class is ideal for students who prefer not to get up and down from the floor, need balance support, or want a gentle practice that still supports strength, breath, and mobility.

Good for: beginners, seniors, mobility concerns, fatigue, balance support, and gentle movement.

Ground

Gentle, steady, and calming.

Ground is a slower practice focused on simple movement, breath, and nervous system support. It is a beautiful option when you want to move gently and reconnect with your body without pressure.

Good for: beginners, stress, fatigue, gentle movement, and nervous system support.

Yin

Slow, quiet, and supported.

Yin is a slower class with longer-held shapes and plenty of support. It gives the body time to soften and the mind time to settle. No yoga experience is needed.

Good for: beginners who enjoy stillness, stress relief, flexibility, and deep rest.t
