Plan Your First Visit
Your first class does not have to feel intimidating. We’ll help you know what to expect, what to bring, when to arrive, and how to feel comfortable before you ever step on the mat.
We’re glad you’re here.
Whether this is your first yoga class, your first time at The Bend, or your first time back in a while, you are welcome exactly as you are. You do not need to know the poses, understand the language, or feel “ready” before you begin.
Our teachers will guide you, offer options, and help you settle in at your own pace.
Before you arrive
A little preparation can help your first visit feel easier.
Step 1
Reserve your spot through our schedule so we know to expect you.
Step 2
Foundations, Chair, Ground, Stretch, Yin, and Curve are great places to begin.
Step 3
Arrive 10–15 minutes early
This gives us time to welcome you, show you around, and help you get settled.
Step 4
Wear comfortable clothing
Choose clothes you can move, stretch, and breathe in. You do not need special yoga clothes.
Step 4
Bring water and a mat if you have one
If you do not have a mat or props, we’ll help you get what you need.
When You Walk In
Come in a few minutes early and check in at the front. If it is your first visit, let us know. We’ll show you where to place your things, where class will be held, and what props may be helpful.
You are welcome to ask questions before class begins. If you have an injury, pregnancy, pain, mobility concern, or anything you would like support with, please tell your teacher privately before class.
You never have to share more than you are comfortable sharing.
