Why are the bend yoga classes so unique?
All of the instructors at The Bend are given autonomy to be creative with their sequencing. Each instructor gets to teach to thier experience and passion. When reading the descirptions below this is a guidline for you to decide what peaks your intrest. If that class doesnt work for you, try a different day, time, or instructor. Yoga is for everyone and every mood. Play around with your schedule until you find the right class for you.
fold - GentleFOLD - Take time to breathe and release! Then learn to coordinate that breath with slow movement. The Fold is a gentle yoga class that is amazing for anyone that wants to relax and de-stress! The Fold can be especially beneficial to those that are new to yoga, experiencing joint sensitivity, or body stiffness due to physical limitations. You will enjoy 40 minutes of gentle movement and breath, followed by a 20 minute guided relaxation in a propped savasana. The ultimate in relaxation!

chair*Chair Yoga is a Silver Senior class - price is $8/class*
A great way to encourage or maintain flexibility. This 45 minute class is geared toward those who may need a chair or extra props for balance. We will do yoga poses and exercises to increase functional range of motion in major joints. This class is as friendly as a puppy, but get ready to pump those muscles and unleash some serious strength and mobility that’ll stick with you for a lifetime! |
Foundationsformerly Beginner
We take our FOUNDATIONS class seriously here at The Bend! This class is for those who are just beginning their yoga journey, have had a long break from yoga or have very limited experience and/or mobility. We move slowly and mindfully with emphasis on learning how to align and engage our bodies within the yoga poses. Class includes foundational postures, breathing techniques, and an 8 - 12 min relaxation at the end of class.

curve - IntermediateCURVE is a gentle flow class. It is both challenging and intentional - focusing primarily on soulful movement with the rhythm of the breath; sharing in joyful energy and connection to oneness.
This class has many transitions from standing then to the mat and back up again. It is suitable for those with limited yoga knowledge, however, if you are brand new to yoga or are not confident with your balance may we suggest the Beginner or Fold? |
bend - all around YogaSometimes you just need to be with yoga. No worries about the level just need to get in the groove and let it flow.
To have a blast in this class without a hitch, you should be ready to rock one-leg balances, deep lunges, and some arm balances! Get set to move like lightning and work up a glorious sweat! If you're nursing any injuries or feeling a bit stiff, remember to look out for yourself—this class zooms by. This is the class to take if you are looking to take your practice to the Edge! We will be moving purposefully with many transitions and options for advanced postures. ***Not suitable for beginners - please look into the Foundations, Fold, or Curve if you are new. |
The EdgeReady to look over the EDGE?
To fully enjoy this class without any issues, be prepared to master one-leg balances with binds (that means threading your arms through your leg and giving your back a gentle hug), deep lunges, and arm balances right in the center of the room! Get ready to move swiftly and break a satisfying sweat! If you have any injuries or are feeling a bit stiff, please prioritize your well-being—this class moves quickly, and the instructor may not be able to provide individual attention to everyone. We may sweat. We may bend. We may arm balance. What ever we do it will be epic! This class is not suitable for beginners or those who may have underlying health conditions. *This class is available in studio only. |
stretchWhat is Stretch yoga? This targeted yoga method helps those experiencing tightness through the hips, low back, and hamstrings.
These classes are hugely popular because students can see results quickly. You can expect to relax into your yoga pose, practice deep breathing to find deeper relaxation, and slow movement often times holding yoga poses for 2 - 5 minutes. This is a mat based practice that uses gravity for a sustained passive stretch. |
Yoga + Movement - YomoStretch, move, breath!! This class is amazing. A BEND original, encoorporating your favorite things resistance training, biomechanics, and yoga. In this integrative practice you can expect specialty movements to focus more on deeper movement and integrating the body, breath and mind into your personal yoga and fitness routines.
While yoga style movement is still the focus you can expect the introduction of other props such as, weights, tennis balls, dowels, elastic bands, etc. This is a great compliment to your yoga practice or your cross training program. . |

Prenatal YogaTake time for your mind and body to prepare for the changes ahead.
Prenatal yoga is a gentle form of yoga created to complement the changing needs of pregnant bodies during the second and third trimesters. The focus is on gentle or restorative poses that keep you safe while practicing movement, stretching, deep breathing, and mental centering. Expectant persons can feel benefits such as better sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, and a supportive community. This is a 90 minute class that occures on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Baby n MeBonding with baby is one of the most important activities for baby development. So take some time to socialize with other adults making the same transitions you and baby are. Ease slowly back into a yoga or exercise routine. This class takes into account that you are adjusting to a new "normal" either with baby for the first time or a new addition.
