power flow HIIT & tabata - TBA
Amp it UP - HIIT and Power Yoga
What do High Intensity Interval Training and Yoga have in common? Absolutely nothing. But put them together? Now that’s a dynamic duo. What’s the saying? Opposites attract? That couldn’t more true for HIIT and yoga!
Why do we want to bring HIIT principles into a power yoga class? It helps us add in some of the elements that our traditional yoga practice is missing. We will elevate our heart rates which can lead to improved cardiovascular health, boost our metabolism, gain more muscle and burn more calories. HIIT will be working into our fast twitch muscle fibers while yoga focuses more on the slow twitch fibers aka our stabilizers. When we implement HIIT into our power yoga we get the best of both worlds. A complete fitness routine should include cardio, strengthening and stretching. We can offer our students all three at once! And they love the excitement that HIIT brings to the yoga practice. In this training you will learn what HIIT is and how it’s different from Tabata. You will learn how to safely integrate both HIIT and Tabata techniques into your yoga class. You will also learn sequencing tips and tricks to make an engaging class with just the right mix of the two - keeping your students excited and ready for more! This class is for current yoga teachers looking for continuing education units (counts as 19 CEU’s through Yoga Alliance), those fitness professionals wanting to increase there knowledge of HITT and TABATA for group fitness, cross fit, personal training, and private client fitness, or for those students enrolled in The Bend Academy 300 hour program. Weekend Schedule: Friday- 6:00pm - 8:00pm Saturday - 8:00am - 5:30pm Sunday - 8:00am - 5:30pm Cost: $350 |
